Have you considered horseback riding this afternoon?

While Breckenridge is a fantastic place to ski and snowboard in the winter and hike and fish in the summer, it does not immediately strike like a place to do horseback riding. In fact, horseback riding is in general not a typical activity for most people, so it might feel strange, and intimidating, but as it turns out, it could be so much fun!

Breck has Breckenridge stables, located at the Peak 9 area of the mountain. It is close to the resort, easy to book, and you will be guided on horses through the nearby trails. If you are in a pinch for time, it is definitely a neat way to get on a horse and stroll through the woods.

However, if you have a vehicle to get there, and a whole day to enjoy the outing, we think Platte Ranch in South Park, Colorado is a fantastic play to ride a hourse with your friends and loved ones.

The ranch is huge, and a trip out-and-back can take around three hours, during which time you travers through the woods, climb up a hill, and get to "go fast" on a plato above you. The views are simply stanning! Mike and Tiger, the cowboys running the show, are great humans, and will care for your party, adn entertain you while out and about. They run a tight ship, and the horses love, respect and obey them.

If you head out that way, don't forget to pack plenty of sunscreen, a tight hat that won't fly off in a gust of a wind, pants, comfortable shoes, and perhaps a jacket in case it rains. Please treat your horses with kindness, and don't forget to tip, after all that's how the cowboys get paid.
